“A night to remember” - The Rolling Hills Annual Holiday Party
Hosted by The Rolling Hills Tennis & Social Club
On Saturday 7th Dec, over 80 guests of the Rolling Hills Tennis Club made their way to Alya and Chris Lucas’ home for a night to remember! The annual holiday party hosted by the Rolling Hills Tennis Club got underway just after 6pm. Guests checked in and were invited to participate in the “name game,” trying to guess the name they had been given but could not read! This icebreaker soon got everyone mingling and meeting new residents and old friends
Guests found their way to the bar for some seasonal cheer and tennis themed, holiday cocktails such as: The volley and the ace!
Chef Peter Carpenter and his team were soon hard at work sending out an amazing array of tasty food. The menu included appetizers such as Shrimp shu mai, Indian samosas, Mini roasted corn bisque, and Portobello mushroom skewers, followed by delicious Tri tip sliders, Lamb Lollipops, Poke skewers, mini crab cakes, Blackened shrimp, Sesame chicken, and more. People commented on the incredible quality and the fact that the food “kept coming all night long!”
Halfway through the evening the band struck up and encouraged everyone to put on their dancing shoes and swing to the beat of the Jessie Payo Band! This fabulous ensemble that included amazing musicians: Jessie Payo, who has toured with Minnie Driver, Etta James and Jason Mraz, and also Mollie Miller the daughter of our own RHTC Board member, Julie Miller. The band played a wide variety of favorites, jazz tunes, holiday and pop music.
During a weekend of heavy showers, we were amazingly lucky to escape rain-free the entire evening. Guests were able to enjoy the fabulous outdoor entertaining space at the Lucas’ home. With the protection of outdoor heaters, the guests talked late into the evening.
By the end of the evening everyone agreed it had been a night to remember!
